Garden with vegetation and relaxation areas

Garden with vegetation and relaxation areas

Location:

Sant Quirze del Vallès

Area:

300 m2

Objectives:

This project is located in Sant Quirze del Vallès, and the first condition of the garden design was to work around a built-in swimming pool that was still under construction. The rendered finish on the boundary walls had been affected by damp and was in poor condition. We therefore proposed rebuilding several parts of the wall with stone-effect ceramic cladding, integrating the electrical installation for lighting all around the perimeter: chases, wiring, boxes, and the recessed lights themselves. This created ambient lighting throughout the garden, with warm tones and 45-degree light beams that give the space a soft, cozy atmosphere.
In addition to this installation, the project also included lighting for several points on the house façade, with some lights set at pavement level to support the same ambient-light concept used along the garden wall and the storage area at the edge of the plot.

Idea:

In the garden space around the pool, the original layout was respected, keeping the existing trees and planting while adding high-quality artificial grass and brown synthetic decking in a tone similar to the existing slatted fence. Along the boundary, the shed and the vegetable garden area that the clients already had were refurbished using the same colour palette as the rest of the project.
In the side access corridor, the original planting was also kept and the existing elements were enlarged or improved, including the outdoor water point and the dog house, and a new enclosure was designed for the storage area. Automatic irrigation was installed both in the side planter and in the vegetable garden area.

Execution:

By modifying the vehicular access area on the main façade of the house, the staircase that connected this zone with the lateral passage was removed because the clients did not use it. This allowed them to gain extra outdoor garage space at the entrance, and the paving was redone to match the existing stamped pavement.
The result is a garden area that is clearly and consistently connected to all the surrounding spaces.
