Low-maintenance garden renovation

Low-maintenance garden renovation

Location:

Cerdanyola del Vallès

Area:

150 m2

Objectives:

This is a house in Cerdanyola del Vallès, in the province of Barcelona, renovated inside but lacking a proper garden design.
The project began with the reconstruction and reinforcement of several parts of the perimeter walls, where the render had aged badly over time. A new slatted fence of textured brown synthetic wood was added, providing the desired privacy in a softer way while allowing natural ventilation between the different areas.

Idea:

In the rear garden, the terrace and outdoor dining area, where the clients spend most of their time, were paved and enlarged, with space reserved for a future barbecue area. In addition, all the lighting for the garden spaces was installed, as there had previously been no outdoor light points, with the aim of creating different atmospheres the clients could enjoy.

Execution:

To connect the entrance, the side area, and the rear garden, the original lawn, which was practically non-existent and required constant maintenance, was replaced with high-quality artificial grass after levelling all the zones with compacted aggregate and respecting the existing vegetation. This created a unified outdoor space that requires very little maintenance.
A white gravel planter was proposed all around the perimeter. It solves the transitions between the different finishes and the perimeter wall while also helping drainage in the event of heavy or continuous rain.
The result is a modern garden that respects the house setting and responds to the clients’ needs.
