We found an old garden with many construction defects and a pool area with the rear section at a different height and several uneven levels.
There was also a slight displacement in the retaining wall and cracks in the paving.
The access staircase was divided into two sections, with part ramp and part steps.
There was no drainage system for rainwater or wastewater.
There was a vegetable garden area the clients wanted to keep.
Architectural barriers were closing off the spaces, and the planting was poorly distributed. There were different trees and shrubs, some to keep and others to remove.
The kitchen and bathroom area needed renovation and a connection to the drainage system.
Lighting was poor.
Before
To unify all paved surfaces on one single level.
To relocate the vegetable garden.
To create an artificial grass area with a natural planting bed around the pool.
To repair the wall next to the pool and fix the existing crack.
To remove the previously selected planting elements.
To create a drainage and wastewater collection network with a pump that discharges into the main drainage system.
In the staircase area, to repair the steps and widen them across the full corridor width, while cleaning up and burying the water pipes running along the side.
To create a chill-out area with synthetic decking.
To install an automatic irrigation system with drip irrigation.
To rework the pool coping and the skimmers so they fit the new finished level, and to regrout the pool.
To give the garden a modern appearance in keeping with the interior renovation of the house.
The result is a clean, single-level garden with a minimalist style and just the right amount of planting to provide freshness, privacy, and low maintenance.
A continuous reinforced concrete surface with wall anchors was created throughout the paved area, together with reinforcement for the retaining wall and a new drainage network. A new stair base was built in reinforced concrete and finished with non-slip porcelain tiles chosen by the client, matching the rest of the paved surfaces.
A chill-out area was created on the same level as the paving, finished with Supradeck synthetic decking.
A generous artificial grass area was installed.
An automatic irrigation system was added to cover the different planting zones with a two-station Hunter controller and drip line.
The kitchen and bathroom were fully renovated and a marble-topped bar was added to separate the kitchen from the garden.
The client is delighted and is now enjoying both the renewed pool and the renovated garden together with the whole family.
